Comments : The USCIS tracking system is a worthless fraud! They FINALLY entered my receipt number into their system several days AFTER they had approved the petition and sent it on to the NVC!
I was advised that I would hear from the NVC in about 30 days. After 45 days and two emailed inquiries then finally responded.

This visajourney timeline system has not been updated to match the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC)! The timeline requests a date for 'send IV package' but there is no 'SEND' involved, everything is submitted on-line and it's an iterative process. If there is anything not exactly correct, they post a message on your account and send an email advising you to correct some error or omission. It's really much more efficient this way, but their system has some quirks and inconsistencies. It seems to be rather new.

The system is also somewhat self-contradictory concerning the AOS payment and submission. They tell you the AOS is optional and that you can bring your documents to your interview. But the do NOT let you proceed without paying for the AOS and then submitting it all. It's probably better this way as you can be sure your AOS document collection is complete before going to the interview.

Consulate Review: Taipei, Taiwan
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 5, 2018
Embassy Review : Arrived 30 minutes early and was admitted. I left my phone with my husband who was waiting at a nearby coffee shop. Inside I discovered that everyone else who was there for a visa interview had brought their phone with them. Apparently I could have too.

The interview took about an hour and was relatively easy. Even though we had paid to have New Hampshire review our i-864, Taipei insisted on doing their own review. They did not tell me immediately that the i-864 was or was not approved. They only said my visa would be delivered in three days.

All of the instructions said I should bring many original documents and a copy of each for the Consular Office to keep. Instead, they held back several original documents, including some of my health exam documents. But everything was returned to me with my passport and visa. I wasted a LOT of paper making copies that they did not want. (I wasted a lot of time too.)

The gave me a form with a URL where I need to pay the immigrant processing fee. The URL on the form was wrong and I had to do some searching to get to the site. As seems normal, the site did not know about me yet, so I have to wait some more before I can pay. There is really no hurry about this as we won't be departing Taiwan for about two and a half months.

My Visa WAS DELIVERED just a few hours ago.

I am SO SO glad this ordeal is OVER! Thank you Visa Journey for your help and your reassurance through this mess.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
