I had my interview this morning at the consulate in Montreal, my appointment was for 7:30am there were a handful of people waiting to get in as well. I went about a half hour early to wait in line.
The overall process was fairly simple and easy to follow, you go inside check in and go through the security check. I decided not to bring my phone in or have any bags just my binder and wallet/jacket. Made it easy as I was allowed to keep everything on me.
They give you a number and a sheet to organize all your documents and you head up the elevator. You head to a waiting room to be called up to submit your documents (the staff were extremely nice) as long as you have everything there shouldn't be any issues. 100% Make sure you have originals it is very important they require wet inks on all the documents your fiance needs to sign and all documentation that requires a seal like a court record, police check or divorce records you gotta have the originals. I made sure to have them but I'm sure not all do.
Once they take your documents you take a seat again and wait to be called for your interview. The officer again was extremely nice it really was almost like a conversation. They asked how we met and I explained the dates and times of how we met online and followed up with the dates and times of our first meeting right away so she didn't need prompt me for those questions. She asked about the places I had visited in the past 5 years, if I had lived anywhere other than Canada, if I was convicted anywhere in the world and that was pretty much it!
She then smiled to me and said welcome to the United States and handed me the wonderful pink slip and slip with all the details! I was told it would take about 1-2 weeks to get my packet in the mail.
Overall they were super nice just make sure you've got all the documents and you should have no problems!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
