Comments : My appointment time was 9:00 am when I reached the embassy I joined the line. The security guard at the entrance checked my appointment letter and passport then sent me inside a security check. Please make note that you can not bring certain items into the embassy such as pens, phones, food etc. At that point I had put all my belongings in a tray and it passed through a scanner then I had to walk through a metal detector. After that I was handed a number and sat down and listen for my name to be called. I waited for about an hour until my name was called. I walked up to a window where they asked me who is filing for me and if I ever traveled. After that they ask for my Birth Certificate, Ds 160, No impediment, police record, 2 passport size pictures and my passport then I waited for another 5 minute at the finger print window. Then I sat and waited about 40 minutes for my name to be called for my interview. The Immigration officer made me take an oath that everything in my files were true. He started by asking me a few questions which are listed below.
1) Was I ever arrested?
2) Have I ever been to court?
3) Have I ever traveled?
4) What is the longest time I traveled?.
He then started to look through my files, at this point he realized we were a same sex couple, then he told me to give him a moment, I stood there for like 2 mins, when he came back and told me we would continue our interview in a room.
5) How did we met?
6) What app did we meet on?
7) What does my fiancé do for a living?
8) What type of services does your fiances company provide?
9) Where is my fiancé from?
10) Do you have any pictures of you two?
11) Can I see them?
I took out this big 2" binder with all of our photos, he saw it and said never mind I have some here I can look at. Lol I wanted to laugh but didn’t, I smiled. He smiled 😀
Then he ask,
12) Do you guys have plans for the wedding or are you two waiting until you get there to plan?
13) Do you two have any kids?
Then he started typing on his computer after that he told me my visa was Approved and i can pick it up in 10 days! I said okay thank you and he said you’re welcome!

My overall experience was great! He was very nice 👍🏾

Update: the case was in Administrative processing for a day then the status updated to Issued.

You're so welcome! Congratulations!!! Did you have to take bank statements?
blank avatar P & C on 2019-01-25 said:
Thank you. My fiancé get a letter from the bank stating their current account balances. But they did not ask me for it. I would bring a letter signed by your bank or the statements in cause they do ask.
blank avatar NicholeT on 2019-01-25 said:
Ok thank you. I have a letter from the bank and from my employer as well. I just wasn't sure about bank statements, but I will take some just to be safe.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
