Simple and easy, no issues. We waited around 30min to be called and it took them maybe 10min to work on our paperwork and that was it. (PS: we traveled with 2 small dogs). |

Embassy Review : |
Our appointment was scheduled at 07:20 in the morning. We arrived at approximately 07:00. There was a short line of other applicants waiting, so we waited with them. Shortly after, they came out and verified the names of those waiting. We were escorted inside and through the security checkpoint. We were led upstairs to a room and asked to sit. Victor came around and gave a list of documents and a form to fill out. We completed the form and organized our documents, and when he was ready we took them to him to be checked. He verified all our documents and forms, and gave them back to us. We were directed to sit in the front row to await to be called.
After a short wait, we were called to a booth where a lady thoroughly checked each document and verified our copies. We were returned the originals along with the DS-3025 from the medical packet. She told us we will need that for the AOS and other procedures still to come. She collected fingerprints and then we were asked to sit in the second row and to wait again for our name to be called.
After another short wait, we were called to the interview booth. She asked if we would like the interview to be in English or Portuguese. We answered English and she asked if it was my first time to Brazil, which I answered that it was my third. We were sworn in and the interview began. She asked us how we met, when did we first meet in person, when did we get engaged, and what was our wedding plans. We answered each, and then she explained that we cannot get married before travelling to the US with the Visa and that we have 90 days to get married after arriving in the US. She said congratulations that we were approved and that it will take about 2 weeks for the passport to leave the consulate. We asked again, we were approved?? And she said YES, APPROVED!
The staff was very courteous and exceptional. Everyone was so pleasant and nice to us. We were always greeted with Bom Dia. When we were walking out of the consulate, we looked and it was just approaching 08:10. We took a little over an hour to process everything and receive our approval.
We stayed at the IBIS hotel. It was a short walk from the airport as well as a short walk from the consulate. It was exceptionally clean and nice. We highly recommend it if you aren't sure where to stay. |

Timeline Comments: 1did you ever request to expedite?? You are so lucky to be that quick for GC!!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
