Consulate Review: Jamaica
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 3, 2020
Embassy Review : My husband’s interview appointment time was at 12:15 pm. We were on time. The interviewer asked my husband 5 questions:
1.) Have you ever been to the states 2.) Have you ever been in trouble 3.) How did you meet your wife 4.) When did you get married 5.) How many kids do you have

The interview then asked me:
1.) How many times have I been to Jamaica since meeting my husband 2.) How many kids do I have 3.) Asked for my 2019 Tax Transcripts

He said to my husband and I that, “ He was approved 🤗 pending his medical”!! Asked if, “ We had any questions” and that was it.

We weren’t asked about a Public Charge form or anything. We were done by 1:00pm 🤗🥰

This was on 07/01/2020. We arrived in the states on 07/12/2020
Rating : Very Good

Congrats on receiving your interview date! Has the embassy/consulate in Jamaica reopened? Or did you apply for an emergency interview?

They are only processing spousal visa’s at this time as far as I know. My husband initial Visa appointment was April 6th. But canceled due to COVID-19. So they are now processing all canceled Visa as of the moment.

Hi InQuisitive1!! Do you recall how long it took from the date of setting an appointment for medical to the date of the medical, and how long was it from the date of medical to the date of interview? P.S. we are using the same facilities.

Good morning Stacey Ann. Interview went very fast and very good. I posted the information in the “Embassy Review Section” of my page. Good luck to you and your spouse.

Good afternoon, I wanted to ask you, did you get an email from the embassy when the visa was ready to be picked up? Thank you in advance 🙏🏾

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
