Consulate Review: New Delhi, India
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 31, 2007
Embassy Review : April 17, 2007

Hi! Finally I can finally breathe with ease!

I had my K1 visa interview at 9 am today-April 17. It was easy and not at all scary as some people felt for Delhi Consulate. I reached there by 8:40 am and was in the embassy by 8:45 am and was called at 9 am to submit my passpost and documents pending (the ones I hadnt submitted to VFS). Paid the $100 fees and was asked to wait. I was called for the interview at 10:35 am and was asked to take the oath. Asked few questions:

1. How we met?
2. Since when my fiance has been in US?
3. Do I have any relatives in US?
4. What does my fiance do for a living?
5. When did we get engaged?

The consular commented that i had travelled well...they don't try to intimidate you at all. All in all very good experience. Finally he Congratulated me and said that I would get the passport with the visa in a week's time by courier and that I was all set!

I hope this helps you all applying at New Delhi

All the Best!

-Dano
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
