The first part of the k-1 process was tedious and long but with patience anyone can get through it. It took a long time to get our noa2 but once that was over the rest (nvc to embassy)was really fast, but don’t rush it because if you don’t prepare enough you get stuck on the easiest part and make it harder then it needed to be. Dealing with nvc is easy because most k-1 visa get process by the embassy which is where the embassy of Haiti comes in, for now they respond pretty quick to inquiry by email but that changes from time to time. I was one of the lucky one everything went smoothly but a lot can go wrong at the embassy step so be careful get all documents needed and do research. |

It was a quick process until we got to the interview and got an rfe for not having the birth certificate translated, I only thought We needed the extract since that’s what we’ve been using, also it was suppose to be quick since according to the immigration officer, we were basically approved except that we needed to send in this last document, but it took them 2 months after we send in the document to send the approval letter. In the end our case was quick compare to most other cases. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
