Hi,
Could you share your N400 interview experience at San Jose Field Office and congratulations for being the citizen now. Was your case through Family petition / employment or K-1 visa?
Mine is thru employment, 5+ yrs LPR and filed on June 4, 2020 with interview being awaited.
Thanks,
Mayank

The interviewer was a nice female , she introduced herself to me, and led me to her office, first she went through all the information in the form, she even asked me about my height and I told her 5inches, she said that's it? I told her I was 5.2 but I am getting shorter, then she asked me about my job , at the time of the application a year ago I was a teacher, but then I got promoted to a site supervisor, she corrected the job in her computer. Then she askd me if I was ready for the civic test, She asked me 6 questions: 1- Why the flag has 13 stripe? 2- Who was living here before the Eurpeans came? 3- What were the first 3 words in the constitution? 4- If the president can no longer serve who takes his place? 5- Who does the senator represent? 6- who signs laws? For reading : Which state has more people? for writing: California has more people. Then she said we are done , your application is approved. The whole interview took only 15 minutes .

Great, thanks for the detailed response. Am presuming yours was also 5 years permanent resident, right? She didn't ask you to show any documentation , just curious? And the Oath is not same day but a week to two afterwards, correct?

She didn't ask for anything but I already had all documents with me, and I told her whether she wanted to have a look she said OK and I told her if she wanted to take anything she said no, we had everything on file, but the only thing she took was the tax transcript for the 3 years. I was 3 years permannent resident, and she asked me to wait outside for the invitation letter , I waited for about 20 min, then they called my name and handed me the invitation letter for the Oath ceremony after 10 days from the interview. I took the oath in the parking lot outside, they didn't allow anybody to get out of the car, they took my green card and asked me to stay in the car, then the same interview lady came out with a speaker and we were asked to stand in front of our cars guests allowed, then she said said the oath and we said Amen. and handed us our certificates.
