K3: Touched 10/30/06 and 10/31/06, 11/14/06 - Chicago/Missouri processing. Touches due to VSC transfer: 11/14/06, 11/15/06, 11/17/06. 12/08/06 - approval (NOA2). Unsure of when Consulate received letter...so Date Received By Consulate field is filled in as date Consulate sent out Packet 3 (thanks to Royal Mail losing it, 2 weeks went down the drain). Was mailed out by NVC on Dec 13th.
I-130 touches: 10/05/06 -received petition at VSC.
10/11/06 - some paper shuffling touch.
12/06/06 - approval (NOA2).

Intimidation and generally hostile. Not a nice way to welcome a person to the country. But she got through it as she had all the paperwork. Did take an extra half hour compared to her accompanying father and brother here on VWP. |

Due to the inability of the USCIS to read my wife's fingerprints, the case was approved pending a police clearance/good conduct letter. So interview was 8/2/07 and actual green card was issued 9/5/07. 6/5/09 - window for 10 year green card opens (removal of conditions) if I calculate correctly. |

Walk in Biometrics. Original date of appointment was 1/7/2011, but wife walked in and had them done 1/4/2011. Possible fingerprint reading issues...awaiting FBI response. Fingerprints were REJECTED. Needed police clearance for 3 years of previous residence for interview. |

Embassy Review : |
...From the details my wife told me:
Got there early before embassy opened and brought one GIANT bag of documents. She had her passport and interview letter checked. The security told her that the hand cream she was carrying was not allowed, so she chucked it. Entered and took a number. Called to the counter to submit documents and did after about 1/2 hour later. Then was called to second counter for the "interview". Interviewer was a nice person and it turned more into an informal talk. Some general questions of "When were you married"? "How did you meet"? etc. Nothing crazy...
Now, I am going to rate this consulate a 4 because the consulate itself deserved a 5, but the phone service is horrible. They are absolutely useless. Calling results in nothing except "4 more weeks". A bit of advice: use the phone number to get an e-mail code. The e-mail personnel usually have a good grasp on the process and give you an answer within 24-48 hours. Sometimes, the phone people know even less than you.
As of the time of my wife's K3 process...I scrambled around looking for the K3 packet 3. Couldn't find it...turns out that there is NO real K3 packet 3. It is a K1 packet with K1 crossed out and K3 written in!?!?!?! This may change soon...but the requirements are pretty much the same (kinda knew that)>
Oh well...as long as you have the paperwork they request and some evidence, you'll do ok. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
