Embassy Review : |
Interview went much faster and easier than expected. I arrived just on time, went through the security line and I didn't wait long before my name was called. The interviewer was a lady...very pleasant. First she asked us for our IDs (passport and government issued), then she asked us a heap of questions about our relationship, no usual questions. How, when and where we met, when he proposed, when and where we got married, when we moved, whether I was working in the US(which I am not currently, but I did get an employment parole card allowing me to travel/work if I wanted to until I receive my GC). She also went through all the criminal questions they ask on the DS160 with me... The entire time, my husband(petitioner) was in the same room with me, we were never separated thankfully.
Then she requested for copies of my Evidence of marriage and my husband's most recent tax return. I had taken my whole boat load of paperwork with me... everything I ever filed and more.... so thankfully this time I wasn't missing anything! And as quick as it started... it was over. She then told me I should receive my card in the mail in about 30 days !!! Yaaayyyyy!!!! Such a relief!!!
N.B.... I did receive a notification and letter that my interview was 'ready to be scheduled' back in Dec 2018... but the letter with the actual date and time only arrived April, 2019. Thankfully I had filed for my travel & work parole at the same time as my AOS .... so I received that faster and was able to leave the US twice with no problem before receiving my GC! :D

Timeline Comments: 3*Call USCIS to check on your Application*
This # helped me to get though to a human being faster
by dialing their # *1-800-375-5283* and then *1122* when they asked if to continue in English.
The customer rep just repeated what we saw on the app already (which wasn't updated since our RFE) and was quite hesitant to put me on to a Tier 2 rep when I asked. However I insisted we really needed to speak with one.... and finally she transferred the call!
They issued a call back... once they called back, they told us our application had been approved & was already in the mail. Sometimes they may just tell you what month of applications are being worked on at the moment. So you may need to wait a few more months to call back .
If this is an outdated number, Google ‘how to call a Tier 2 representative at USCIS’ – might have to dig deep.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
