Glad I finally have my visa in hand. This process took 10 months when we thought it would take 4 to 6. The USCIS had our case waiting for nothing for two months after approval. I was in Administration Processing for 12 days after my interview when I was approved. |

COVID times are indeed strange times. I had my interview, received approval and took the oath all in the same day. The staff in St-Albans were wonderful. I got a same-day COVID test done in order to be readmitted into Canada a few hours later. Can hardly believe I am done with USCIS! |

I live in Montreal so I took the bus and metro to the consulate and arrived around 7:20. Other applicants were already waiting outside. When they let us in, the security guard said that I could not come into the building with my backpack. I brought it with me because I was going to work after the interview and needed it. I wrongly thought that they could store it for me but instead I walked to the Eaton Centre and put it in a locker, returning only with my documents binder. I was given number 8 upon return and went up to the 19th floor. I was called to a window after about 45 minutes of waiting and the agent asked for various documents; original birth certificate, I-134 filled out by the petitioner, police check, passport, letter of intent to marry signed by petitioner. There seemed to be an issue because the letter was a scan and not an original. I worried about it after he asked me to return to the waiting area but it didnt end up being a problem.
After another 45 minutes, a different agent called me to a different window and proceeded to ask me a few questions about my relationship with my fiancé. It went very well and took all of 3 minutes after which she said Congratulations, your visa has been approved and handed me a pink sheet of paper. All the while she was verifying my documents. I was gone by 9:30. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
