Embassy Review : Everything went very smoothly. We arrived prepared to answer a bunch of personal questions but not many were asked. Our officer was friendly and made us feel comfortable (of course, I still was sweating though). The one thing I was not prepared for was more evidence. The appointment letter does ask for us to bring as much Bona Fide proof as possible but I had sent a bunch with our original application and just brought that with me thinking they couldn't possibly want another full album...turns out they would like that. She asked/ recommended that on our next visit we bring more evidence of our marriage and relationship including any older pictures. birthday cards, letters, etc. not included in the first package. It could be from the start of our relationship to current time. Since my husband and I have been married for less than two years, we will have to return in two years to remove the conditional status of his permanent residency. At that time, I will be better prepared. Even at the time, I could have shown her pictures of family visits around the country and a road trip we had done but id dint think of it until after the appointment....they would want them printed for their records anyway.

She basically went some of the key questions in the forms we filled out and asked how much I knew about my husband's son (to validate our relationship I suppose). It was really simple and easy. As long as you are honest about your application to begin with, they is no real preparation to do for the interview. If you are made with dates, make sure you go over your anniversaries, birthdays, entry dates and such.

She told us on the spot, "I have no problem approving you. The office that prints the cards in Texas should have your information by tomorrow. You will most likely receive your green card in 2-4 weeks but I've heard of some applicants getting it in a week!"

It was a great relief and I'm glad we had such a welcoming officer. Good luck!!
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
