Consulate Review: Tokyo, Japan
Review Topic:
Event Description
Review Date : November 18, 2017
Embassy Review : We had our application expedited at NVC for a medical issue, and because the applicant's job was ending soon, causing financial difficulty for us. The expedite was never mentioned at the interview.

1. Security check

2. Check in with person at the front, show the appt time confirmation email

3. They give you a folder to put your documents in a certain order

4. You will be called almost immediately, you give your papers at the window and then sit and wait

5. After about 2 hours, they call again and fingerprints are taken

6. Wait another 30 minutes

7. Interview

Interview is really easy. Only the applicant can be at the window.

Questions:

When did you meet your husband?

Where did you meet him?

Were you studying in X at the time?

Does he still live in X?

How many siblings does he have?

How many times has he visited you in Japan?

That's it! "you're all set, your Visa is approved and you will get it in about 1 week."
Rating : Very Good

Do I must have nvc case number in order to expedite my case at nvc? I'm in very emergency situation I got expeditious approval at uscis so I want to do the same at nvc too

Yes, you need the nvc case number. Once you get it you can send an email to the expedite address right away with your evidence. There is a bunch of info on doing this in the forum- would suggest searching there

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
