Embassy Review : |
Today (Dec. 11, 2017) was my fiance's interview at the U.S. embassy in Caracas for the K1 visa. His interview was scheduled for 9:00 a.m. and he arrived there around 7:45 a.m. His first interview was with a Venezuelan woman who worked at the embassy and was conducted in Spanish. He said she asked him basic questions such as my name, where I lived, my phone number, and stuff like that. She also started to ask him about his previous stays in the U.S. and was giving him a bit of a hard time about that since during one of those stays he was here 7 and a half months due to a previous application he had for a U.S. student visa however it was not considered an "overstay" because he had that pending application with the government. She finished up with him and he told me he waited about an hour and a half and he had a second interview this time with an American woman. She asked him more detailed questions about how we met, when I have gone to visit him, about my previous marriage, why did my previous marriage fail, what was my daughters name, what's my address, will he work when he is here, how do we communicate, what types of stuff do we fight about, has he met or spoken to anyone in my family, have i met his family, our wedding plans and she also asked him about his previous student visa application. He said they really grilled him during the interview. She was impressed with his English and asked where he learned to speak English so well, of course from me haha! All in all though his interview with the American woman lasted about 25 minutes and she informed him she was approving the visa and that it should be ready in 2-3 weeks. Thank God!!! After this whole process we are both so ecstatic that we'll finally be together. Good luck to everyone else who is reading this for an upcoming interview ![](smile.gif) |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
