Mailed K1 package to Dallas lockbox on 3/20 via certified mail. Got a tracking update on 3/23, that the package was in Jamica, NY. Little did I know that the most direct route from Minneapolis to Dallas was via NYC.
The package was delivered and signed for on 3/28, with the check cashed on 3/31. Still no NOA1 though.
20 Dec 17 - Finally after a snafu at Bumrungrad, and IV unit sending email to wrong person, found out that Sumontha's interview is on 21 Dec. She was up in Sa Kaeo at the family home. A quick scramble to get everything together for the interview, and Sumontha is on her way back to Bangkok for a 0700 interview.
21 Dec 17 - Sumontha told me she needs to provide two documents and will then be ok. I have no idea what she needs to provide. CEAC only says refused.
After a second drug test and getting clearance from the drug counselor at Bumrungrad, the Visa has finally been issued. |

Long lines. Took so long that Sumontha was not able to make her connecting flight to MSP. Had to purchase a ticket at a cost of $500.00
The immigration officer was very polite and only asked for my name, and if she understood that we must marry in 90 days. |

Despite using the same evidence as we used for the initial Green Card, USCIS wanted evidence of a bona fide marriage. |

Gip told me that it was all in all a pretty easy interview. The only hang up was from when she had admitted to amphetamine use during the medical, Then, when they went to schedule the interview, they sent the email to the wrong email address, and had another case number. She had less than 24 hours notice, and for whatever reason didn't have her translated birth cert. She got a 221G for those 2 things. Interviewer told her that once these things were addressed, she would get the visa. A little more than 6 months has passed, and CEAC shows that the visa is issued. My only complaint was the lack of communication from the Embassy after all of the paperwork was resubmitted, the past few weeks |

Gip arrived at LAX from Bangkok via Manila at around 8:00 PM PDT. Her connecting flight was to be at 11;55 PM PDT. She called me and said that clearing immigration and customs took so long that she missed the connecting flight. She said that there were a lot of people in there, One would think that nearly 4 hours would be enough...
She said once she got to the immigration officer, he asked for her packet. Then, he asked her what was my name, and if she knew what she had to do. She gave him my name and told him, yes we must get married in 90 days. He stamped her passport and welcomed her to the USA.
I had to book another flight for her, and she will now be arriving 6 hours later than planned. |

Timeline Comments: 1
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
