We met on-line on 9/11/2004. We corresponded via email for several months. In December 2004 I went to Shenzhen, China from San Diego for the first time to meet Judi. We had a wonderful time together for about two weeks, traveling to Hainan Island for New Year's. After my return to the U.S. we continued our correspondence. I returned to China three more times in April 2005, December 2005, and March 2006, and had wonderful experiences on each visit. I met members of Judi's family in Shenzhen and Liuyang (Hunan Pr)during the March 2006 trip. Following this last trip we decided that we intended to be married and began preparing the K-1 petition.
Judi arrived LAX Tuesday Feb 13 on a non-stop flight from HKG. Everything went smoothly with regard to both her interview and her trip to Los Angeles. The consulate officer who interviewed her in Guangzhou was courteous and respectful. She was well-prepared for the interview and carried with her all documents. welcoming letters, and photographs, including those of my five trips to visit her in China - the most recent one in November 2006. On the last day of this trip her package 3 arrived and I helped her complete the forms.
During this last trip we traveled to Bengbu city in Henan Province where Judi grew up and her immediate family resides. We had a wonderful time with her family and friends from her school days, many of whom are now prominent citizens in Bengbu. We then traveled to Beijing and enjoyed some marvelous fall weather while we saw the many sites in this impressive and unforgettable capital city.
It is a dream come true for us that Judi is finally here in San Diego. As Judi gets more practive with spoken English, her English ability steadily improves. Everybody who has met her loves her. We are both very happy and enjoying a wonderful adventure together.
We are planning for a wedding in April 2007 but the date is not yet set.
We handled the visa process ourselves. It is tedious and frustrating at times, but we found the answers we needed to our questions from this site and other sources. Also there were people we met along the way who were going through the process and their advice and counsel was very helpful. We found that if we followed the instructions carefully, the bureaucracy worked as it is supposed to! |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
