Due to covid , no interpreters we're allowed. We had one to call in but totally forgot about it since once you got sworn in the CO starts the questioning.
The CO mainly asked the US citizen spouse all the questions. Questions about the relationship, job, naturalization of spouse, etc. CO didn't look or accept our updated documents since we passed. It took about 45 minutes start to finish including waiting about 20 minutes. It was fast but the US spouses is in the hot seat . This threw me off since I thought the LPR was to be asked the main questions. |

Arrive at 6:15AM and everyone was across the street. There was a street vendor selling coffee and provided seats. We sat there until 6:30AM when people started to line up at the consulate building's main entrance. Greeter checked interview confirmation , DS-160, and passport.. Many brought backpacks and bags. After checking your bags and searching you, you turn in your cell phones and x-ray scan your bags.. The beneficiary line up for the fingerpriting. The petitioner is asked to wait in the waiting area. After the finger printing, we waited about 30 minutes before being called to one of the windows to submit all the required documents. I don't have a birth certificate and so submitted naturalization, baptimsal certificate, and certified copy of family registry from my country. The CO took everything that they needed and returned other documents. Then we were told to wait to be called for interview. We waited another 30 minutes or so and called to one of the windows with American CO and Vietnamese interpreter. We were sworn in and asked if I was her fiance and I said yes. I was asked to sit down.
She was asked 4 questons:
1. how did you meet?
2. how many times I visisted her?
3. do you have relatives live in U.S.?
4. did you have a engagement party or wedding ceremony?
Then , CO said "Welcome to America"
Perhaps my presence help. It was very quick and fast. We were done in 2 hours or so. They did not ask for any other documents other than what was instructed to provide in the packet 3/4. We did not had to show any pictures or anything. As long as your relationship is genuine and real. you got nothing to worry about.
Hope this helps.

We arrived 30 minutes early then waited about 15 minutes. We hired an interpreter. My wife, interpreter and i went to the IO office. The interpreter was asked about his credentials and relationship to us. Glad that we hired a legal interpreter and not just bring a family member or friend to offer unbiased interpretation. We were asked to raise our right hand and swore in I notice he looked at our wedding rings when we raised our hands.
IO asked if i wanted to add supporting documents to application. I submitted photo book and other documents to prove our relationship.
Then he asked me to leave since 129f was already approved.
I waited outside in waiting room while my wife and interpreter was being interviewed.
IO asked about :
How did you meet
Birth date of spouse
How many rooms
Do you rent or own
Spouse job
About wedding
Spouse family
What do you do during free time together
If you don't work what do you do
The questions were very basic and easy. Then IO asked about 20 or more questions from the application form.
IO said it will take 2 to 3 weeks for greencard to arrive. Informed my wife to apply for Removal of Condition before 90 days the 2 year conditional greencard expires. My wife and interpreter came out first then He came out to the waiting room to say congratulations. He look very scary at first but nice man.
Good luck to you all. It isn't too bad. Just be prepared and you will do fine. |

Poh on 2021-11-10 said: We passed the ROC interview. I was surprises that I was being asked the questions instead of my conditional resident wife who applied for ROC. I was bit nervous that I was being questioned. My wife just sat there and listened to the conversation. We didn't need an interpreter at all. The interpreter was on standby.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
