Embassy Review : My experience with the embassy was pretty good, the day of the interview went really smoothly. I'd forgotten to bring the photocopy of the packet I sent in before the interview so I was up late frantically trying to piece as much as I could back together, and B wouldn't let me even start talking until she saw me take some deep breaths. She's just as lovely as everyone else says in the reviews, and made the first part really easy. My interview was at 10, and I had about an hour and a half wait, which was fine. The interview windows are just that, like subway windows, so you can hear other people being approved and that makes it all a little easier. The questions were as expected, how did we meet, what does he do now etc, and less than 10 minutes later it was all over and approved!

The one thing that I note could be improved is communication before the interview. At one point I called to double check that I had the correct documents and was told they didn't have time to deal with it and to just follow the checklist (in the welcome email) but the morning of the interview (at 8:45) I got an email asking me if I could bring a couple of documents, which I didn't get until after the interview was done. Luckily I had them with me anyway but emailing about an hour before the interview just seems totally ridiculous.

POE Review: San Francisco
Event Description
Entry Date : 2018-03-16
Embassy Review : Absolutely no trouble once I got to the front of the line - waiting in line was the hardest part!

Gave my packet to the officer who asked a couple of little questions like how we met, but it sounded much more like idle chit chat than a formal interview, and he directed me down to secondary. Second officer took my unopened visa packet, stamped passport, and basically sent me on my way. Almost seemed too easy! He didn't appear to open the packet though so I'm not sure if that means there will be some kind of delay on getting things like SS# sorted. All things considered, definitely glad we picked SFO as my POE
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
