Our total time from filing I-129F, petition for K-1 visa, until my fiancee received visa was 3 months and 4 days. We did not hire a lawyer, but I am a lawyer. We plan for my princess to come to US November 15. We will set a date for wedding when she is here. VISAJOURNEY.COM has been very useful to us, and also the RUSSIAN FORUM about K-1 visas has been very helpful. |

Princess had her K-1 interview at the US Consulate in Bucharest, Romania. The medical exam also was conducted there, one day before the interview. It was necessary to travel by train from Moldova to Bucharest the night before the interview. After interview, Princess went home that same evening. The place of the medical examination was close to the consulate. We found her a hotel that was only about 150 meters from the US Consulate. They advised her to bring a translator, even though she had been studying English for several months. The translator was useful. It was necessary to wait several hours for the interview. The interview was short and the interviewer was pleasant. The questions were clear and direct, and there were no trick questions or aggressive questions. It was a good experience. The visa was given to Princess at the end of the interview day. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
