This took around 20 minutes. They looked at my documents, did what I suppose is administrative stuff, and let me go. The officers were super nice. |

Embassy Review : |
Communication with this consulate prior to my visa interview was very easy, they answered all my additional questions and addressed my concerns. The day of my interview I got there around 20 minutes before the scheduled time, and they let me in right away, before people who were waiting for other non-immigrant visas. I waited maybe 2 hours, and was called on a couple of times, first to just give my passport and photo, and I was asked about my two year rule that I had from my J1 visa. They calculated if I spent enough time in my home country, and then collected the rest of the documents I had. I was also interviewed by one of the American employees who asked me how I met my fiance, where, if he's met my parents, if I've met his, how we keep in touch etc. At no point was I asked to provide additional relationship proof. He then told me that he will recommend to his colleague that my visa be approved, after which I was informed that my passport will be delivered via DHL from Belgrade to Montenegro (where I'm from), but I decided to pick up my passport myself. The embassy kept in touch with me to let me know when the visa is ready and when I can pick it up. My interview was on Tuesday, the visa was done on Thursday and I picked it up Friday morning. Everyone at the embassy was extremely nice, I felt very welcomed and relaxed. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
