Consulate Review: Islamabad, Pakistan
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 5, 2016
Embassy Review : My husband had his interview on sept.23 2016 at the us embassy in islamabad pakistan.
The interview went great. But in the end they asked my husband for a divorce certificate from my previous marriage. We had already submitted all the documents. After they saw the submitted documents they told him that they don't accept these because they dont look valid and they are not sure about the divorce.Though the documents were 100% valid. So they told my husband to grt the divorce certificate from union council/nadra or an usa court. Since ee got married in azad kashmir. In kashmir nadra and the union council do not provide with these documents. And i cannt give them any documents from the us because my husband from previous marriage never came to the u.s . My previously marriage was arranged which i was not happy with so i ended that relationship right away n had not applied for that guy to come here. After my husband told them the whole story in detail they said ok we dont need any documents from you but we need some time to verify this divorce document. They didnt tell him how long this verification will take. My husband was just given a white slip with no AP. They just told him if he can provide any other document related to this case send it to them as it would be helpul.
My husband was able to get an document from union council in azad kashmir after discussing our problem with them and he mailed it to the embassy.
How long do they take to verify a document?
Has anyone else have been in a similar situation?
I keep checking the status online.
Status was updated everyday from sept.26-30 and than on oct.3
But it still says Ready
Nothing has changed
I had emailed the embassy n they just replied back saying:
Our record indicates that your submitted documents were received. These documents are currently pending for review.

I really miss my husband a lot and need him with me more than ever right now... Im 6 months pregnant n just feeling very lonely n depressed without him.
I hope this verification process doesnt take long n he will be here soon!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
