Consulate Review: Bangladesh
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 27, 2018
Embassy Review : I attended the interview with my husband on July 26th. Reach the Embasy around 8am for his 9am appt. Waited in line in front of Embassy for like 20 mins. Upon entering Embassy went through 2 security checks where interview letter was checked against list. Then once in waiting area interview letter was check and taken by a Bangladeshi gentleman and was told to take out my civil documents (birth certificate, marriage certificate, police certificate) and have a seat and wait for name to be called. Waited 50 mins until my husbands name was called. Walked down to the area where interviews was being taken my husbands passport and orginial civil document was taken, they handed back all photocopies of the civil document back to him and he took the oath and was told to take a seat. Since the interview area was crowded was instructed to go out to a outside waiting area again and listen for name to be called. After another 45 min his name was called for fingerprinting and took a seat again. After another 50 min he was called to window 7 where there was an American man that spoken Bangla. I went to the window with him the CO started off with asking him who I was and my husband said my wife the petitioner, the CO said does she speak Bangla he said no and then asked if my husband speak English and he said yes. Then the CO asked if my husband wanted to do the interview in Bangla or English and my husband responded in English is fine. The CO said it was fine for me to be at the window but he must answer the questions. My husband was asked simple questions like:

How was your petitioner?
Is this your 1st marriage?
Where were you married?
How long have you known your wife?
Where does your wife live?
Does your wife work?
How many times have your met with your wife?
When was your son born?
Have you applied for a visa before?
Who is the person as your joint sponsor?
Do you have any pic besides the ones you have submitted previously?

After that the CO said you have been approved. No paper was given. Then said in 10 to 15 days you should be able to pick up your visa.

One thing I would say is that everyone in the interview room can hear the interviews and people were laughing to hear others interview.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
