Embassy Review : |
Appointment was for 10:00 AM and my wife was able to have her mother go with her inside of the embassy and wait for the interview, which was really nice and helpful. Once inside, she waited for about 90 minutes to be called for her interview,
The actual interview was really fast, only about 10 minutes.
The interviewer asked a few basic questions; when did you meet your husband? Where did you meet? Has he been to Japan to meet your family? Have you met his family? Nothing tricky or in depth at all.
The interviewer asked for all of the documentation on the checklist available from the embassy and also asked for updated 2016 1040 and W2 forms. I was prepared for that and had sent it (original forms were submitted to NVC in January before tax due day) and my wife had everything else she needed.

I am waiting NOA2 for approval .Its been already almost 7 months and nothing returned yet. Our documents seem in Nebraska and their work move very slot.
I wished my documents transfer to Texas like you...I would like to ask you questions how could your document transfer to Texas from Nebraska? Did you request it to Nebraska center? Or your lawyer suggested?
If you can reply more details, I will be so appreciated! Best regards, From Su
Hi Su,
Our case was transferred as part of normal USCIS load balancing between service centers and it is not something that you can control. The process is very slow but it will eventually happen. Good Luck!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
