Got I551 Stamp :
Greencard Received: 2017-10-26
Comments : Biometrics appointment went well but that "3PM" appointment is misleading for sure. Cautiously, we arrived about 1 hour early and entered the building, which has the standard security team we see in all Federal buildings; that process took about 10 minutes. The line inside was actually two lines. The first line being typical paperwork that was returned to us at the end. The second line was for fingerprinting. Altogether, about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

FINALLY, got the interview scheduled after 8 months of waiting, not sure why it took so long since several others on VISAJourney are already completed with Green Card in hand. However, USCIS did have a mistake on the original 797 letter after filing for AOS. They left off some key data and sent a new 797 sometime in March, a full month after we completed Biometrics. Anyway, we're back on track...

Interview went very well but the person doing the interview did not ask hardly any questions....lol.. He did ask my husband if he was divorced legally from the previous wife? WTF??? Hahaha... As for my questions, he only asked me my address and if I ever committed a crime... Anyhow.... All is good and the card is on the way!!!!

Green Card arrived today after only a week following interview. The online USCIS website shows its still being made? Well, at least we found one FAST step during this process... Cheers everyone... See you all in 21 months for the next round of paperworks...

Comments : Here we go again...the final step in getting the "permanent green card." Hope it doesn't take as long as the forecasted wait times listed on the USCIS website!

NOA received but states "Texas" service center which is not a choice in the above drop-down box? Anyway, the USCIS website say's 16-18 months avg. wait time...OMG!

As a side NOTE: The NOA letter does state plainly on the first line (In Bold) that our Green Card status is extended 18 months from the date of expiration.

Got the Biometrics appointment letter today (Nov 6) and its literally scheduled for next week...lol... Ok, this will be fun!

NO INTERVIEW!!

Got some text messages saying that the case had been approved and card is being made. COVID-19 maybe? Hmmm... Can't complain but wondering how many other applicants got the same treatment....

Event Description

Embassy Review : The whole process for those being interviewed is actually very organized but a word of caution to those who come unprepared; you will likely be DENIED or at least return with correct documentation. We spent approximately 10 minutes for the first interview and about 6 minutes for the second. I would consider this to be a very organized system in Manila. There were literally thousands of people waiting in line but its difficult to know how many were actually K1 VISA's like ours. When I made the appointment online there were typically 19 interviews for this type of VISA per available day. Good Luck to anyone who attends this process and read all your documents instructions carefully... Cheers....

Hi! We're following your timeline for I-751 because we're very close to you in submission date. In addition, we were also assigned to SRC (Texas). Indeed, we're in for a long wait. My understanding is that Texas is backed up on biometrics scheduling. Could be months before we get scheduled for biometrics. I following another couple's timeline. Near identical submission date as ours. They got the biometrics appointment letter days after the NOA--National Benefits Center. They'll do biometrics this month, September. Wow! I don't know what's in store for us. Wishing you and your spouse a smooth and rapid journey no matter what.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
