Embassy Review : |
We didn't have to wait very long, he had us raise our hands and swear to tell the truth and went through our application asking me again some of the questions in there (especially the social security and crime ones, like do I need government aid to live or if I'm engaging in prostitution or drug dealing, those questions). We had already submitted my health package and the affidavit of support with the K1 but we brought our joint tax return for the past year and my husband brought his pay stubs with benefits papers, which stated my name in them. We also brought pictures of the wedding and other events in the past year (about 40). So it was basically a lot of fact checking and at the end he said everything looked okay and he'd send out for a confirmation soon.
Our interview was scheduled for 9:30 am, we entered at around 9:10, got though security (you have to go through metal detectors, take your shoes off, just like in an airport) checked in on the second floor and had our interview at the third floor. At 9:55 am we were out of the building heading back home, so it was all done in less than an hour. The hardest things, I think, are the anticipation and the nervousness of something going wrong for whatever reason, I guess we here in the community know that feeling well by now, the fear of getting there and not having some document or saying something that might come off weird. Prepare as much as you can, pay attention and speak firmly, it should be okay. It's a relief to have this part done, I got my approval confirmation 6 days later on the mail |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
