Embassy Review : |
The process through Naples was very simple. They schedule the medical for you, it is the day before interview. You go in, click the ticket machine for consulate, then wait to be called. First they take blood. You sit and wait some more, this time they take xrays. Sit and wait some more, then you talk to a doc who reviews immunization history (or lack of on our part) and gets stateside address you'll be staying, current address, and 4 pictures. The only immunizations they required were MMR and Td (tetanus, diphtheria). He then tells you to go pay (€170 for medical, €62 for immunizations if you have none). After paying you wait some more. When you get called you go downstairs where they give you your immunizations if needed, then a doc goes over your DS-3026, checks eyes, height, weight, ect. You are then finished and good to go. In total it took about 2 hours.
The following day you have the interview. We had a 0800 appointment and arrived at 7:35 with 2 other in front of us. They start letting you in at 0745, 1 group at a time. You go through security and are told to leave all electronics (cords included). They give you a number to retrieve them when you leave, and are then told to make your way inside to the second floor. You wait for you name to be called where they check all your documents. They checked police and birth certificates, I-134 and supporting docs, 2 pictures, proof of payment, and translations. They didn't request the petitioners birth certificate or the DS-160 (which I was surprised about). After the document review is complete you wait for the interview. There was only 1 woman doing the interviews, so we waited about 20 minutes for the 2 in front of us to go. When we went up she had us raise our right hands and promise to tell the truth. She started by asking our names, how and where we met, when we decided to get married, why we didn't marry in Italy, if we met each others families, when she plans on entering the states, and when we plan on getting married. After that, she said everything looked okay and told us we should get the passport back in 5 days. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
