Comments : I heard that in most easy cases, the interview takes around 15 minutes. Our interview took around 40 minutes. Our situation had many specific circumstances where the officer asked for more explanation about it. I had a tourist visa denied before my K1 visa and that time, I sent my DS-160 to be filled for an agency that made up many information because they knew it that Embassy wouldn't approve a visa for me to visit my fiance/husband as a tourist. The officer took this as a lie and this is very very dangerous for any process with Immigration and I could be had a really hard time because this little mistake in the past. So they check all your past information and visas applied in the past. My luck is that visa was denied so that was my saving grace! So my big advice, never lie in any circumstance in this process because if they get your lie, you can be denied easily! Beside this hard moment, they took our extra and recent proofs to add in our process, and after 2 hours that we left the interview, I got the notification in USCIS APP that the case was approved. If your marriage is real and you're being 100%honest about all information, your interview will go smoothly!

Embassy Review : The experience at Consulate was pretty positive. When we arrived at place, we had to find the specific line for K1-visa and someone there will take you into the interview room. There was Alex who gave us a page for us to fill out with personal information (info's about applicant and petitioner - address, e-mail, phone number) and the other page, is a checklist with the documents that you have selected for the first part of interview - Yes, the 1st part, they will check your documents and if is all ok, you can do the interview. If not, they will give you some time to provide what they requested. The 2nd part, they'll call for your name and you'll talk with the consulate employee who will inquire about the relationship. If your documents are ok and the consul feels satisfied about your answers, you will be approved. They said that the passport will arrive at our addresses around 2 weeks.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
