Comments : Crossed at Bluewater in Sarnia, Ontario Canada. The hardest part was figuring out what lane to be in with the u-haul we were towing. Once we got up to the front of the line, they took my paperwork, called inside and someone came out and escorted the truck over to a parking space. They took the keys, and told us to go inside. We were there about 15 minutes total and to my knowledge they didn't do more than just quickly look inside the truck. I had a complete list of contents, all my boxes were labeled and numbered. My paperwork was organized and I had everything they needed handy. They basically just said welcome to the US and handed me back my passport with the Visa. It was pretty easy.

Comments : They were running a little behind, but we had lots of patience and plenty of time. When they called my name, we entered the office and swore the oath. He went through the paperwork he had, asked me for evidence showing we were living jointly. I provided the deed to the house we purchased, copies of our wills and financial/health POA's naming each other. Additionally we had credit card statements, bills in both names including the recent tax bill. (For the record I had 13.2lbs of paperwork with me!). Then he explained what the next steps would be IF he approved the petition. By the time we got home, the website was updated to say they were processing my card.

Comments : With COVID restrictions still in place, the ceremony was short and over in 10 minutes. I was scheduled for 11am. Arrived 15 min early, per the instructions. They brought about a dozen of us into the room, stood on a yellow X, read the oath and then called us to the front. You checked your certificate, signed it and that was it. You still can't have people come with you.

Embassy Review : Like most have said, this actually is a pretty easy step. The best advice I can give is be organized, it makes the whole process go faster. The staff are pretty direct in telling you where to go, where to sit and what to do. The paper they give you providing the list of required documents and their order definitely helps, and you'll have plenty of time to put them in order. I didn't take anything with me except my paperwork and that made the process easier.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
