Had my interview on Tuesday 10/01/17. Was a very easy and smooth process.
The lady who interviewed me was lovely and it was more her just putting things in the computer and a very , very casual chat. In a very relaxed way she asked how I met my fiancee, when we started a relationship, what he does for work, what I do for work , all while she was typing away on the computer. She was lovely. Then said, you're approved . Easy peasy!
The security is quite intimidating, but I always find security intimidating! When you arrive you are made to turn off your phone then proceed to hand your documents to 2 ladies at the front and they pull out what they need. You then go through security, you cannot take anything but your wallet with you. After that you are put in a lift and taken up to a very high floor (Cannot remember exactly). You give your passport to someone and then they will buzz you into the consulate (where the interview takes place etc). You take a ticket and then line up and wait. You will be buzzed to a particular window where that person will go through your documents and make sure you have everything. You will then be directed to sit down and wait for your interview. After the interview, you leave... ta-da!
Very simple! I was completely over prepared. Brought a prepaid envelope which i didnt need, had all documents in a folder with tabs and everything - soo unnecessary. Made copies of all originals - pointless. I multiple US passport photos, only needed 2. As long as you have all your documents that they list on the check list you will be fine.
Hope this eases some people's anxiety! . I am waiting for my passport etc to arrive in the mail and plan to move there late march/early april! Wedding is June 17th - yay!
Best of luck to all , be prepared and you will be fine! |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
