EVEN THOUGH, APPARENTLY ALL OUR PAPERWORK WERE COMPLETED
ON APRIL 3 OF 2018 I AND MY WIFE ATTENDED OUR CONSULAR INTERVIEW IN BOGOTA COLOMBIA.THEY ALLOW THE PETITIONER TO JOIN THE BENEFICIARY TO ATTEND THE VISA INTERVIEW.
MOST OF THE VISA JOURNEY'S MEMBERS FROM ALL AROUND THE WORLD STATES THAT CONSULAR INTERVIEWS ARE ALWAYS A 5 MINUTES FACE TO FACE SIMPLE PROCESS.
5-6 QUESTIONS THE MOST LIKE HOW YOU MET, HOW LONG YOU'VE BEEN MARRIED SO FAR,HOW MANY PEOPLE ATTENDED TO THE WEDDING ETC.
ALL I CAN SAY IS, THIS I A BIGGGG LIE!!!
CONSULAR OFFICERS WERE TAKING BETWEEN 30 TO 45 MINUTES PER CASE.
OUR CASE TOOK ALMOST 45 MINUTES, THE CONSULAR OFFICER DIGGED INTO EVERY SINGLE DETAILED PAGE, SHOOTED A THOUSAND QUESTIONS.
ONCE IN A WHILE REPITED THE SAME QUESTION IN OTHER WORDS AND WAYS,
AT THE END, FOR SOME REASON I LEFT AT HOME AN IMPORTANT PAPER THAT IN THE CHECK LIST WERE NOT EVEN REQUESTED.
THE OFFICIAL CONSULAR FINALLY SAID:
" YOUR IMMIGRANT VISA HAS BEEN APPROVED"
I GONNA HOLD YOUR PASSPORT AND THE REST OF YOUR FILE, EVEN YOUR MEDICAL RESULTS TOO, SHE GAVE MY WIFE A WHITE PAMPHLET PAPER STATING HER DOMESTIC VIOLENCE RIGHTS AS A PERMANENT RESIDENT NOW.
BUT.... I WILL NOT ISSUE YOUR IMMIGRANT VISA UNTIL YOU PROVIDE US WITH THE PAPER AFORE MENTIONED.
IT TOOK OVER 2 WEEKS FOR US TO PROVIDE THIS PAPER TO THE EMBASSY.
FINALLY, TODAY APRIL 20TH AFTER THEY RECEIVED THE PAPER, ALMOST A WEEK AGO, THEY ISSUED MY WIFE'S IMMIGRANT VISA.
WE NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE LAW, TAXES HAS BEEN PAID EVERY YEAR, OUR MARRIAGE ITS A BONAFIDE MARRIAGE ETC.
HOW I SAID BEFORE, CONSULAR OFFICERS IN BOGOTA COLOMBIA TAKES BETWEEN 30-45 MINUTES AT THIS IMMIGRANT VISA INTERVIEW.
EVEN THOUGH, FINALLY, OUR VISA HAS BEEN APPROVED AND PRINTED,
HONESTLY... THIS WHOLE PROCESS ITS A HELL!!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
