The customs officer was very polite and professional. All he (my husband) was asked was about the address that he wanted to have his permanent resident card mailed to.

Consulate Review: Algiers, Algeria Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Event Description Review Date : September 1, 2016 Embassy Review : I attended the interview with my husband. We arrived at about 7:55am and was told by this security guard that I could not enter the embassy with my husband and would have to wait outside (which is a complete lie) a woman overheard my husband talking to the man and told me to go to the receptionist with my husband and tell her that I was the petioner and we would be allowed in. We waited in line for about 5 minutes explained to the person as advised and she said ok and asked for my identification (advice: don't just bring your passport as a form of identification because they will need to hold on to it until your interview is done) I only had my passport so they made a copy of the biometric page and held on to my cell phone as a form of collateral I guess. We entered he first building where we went through security and had to leave things such as phones, keys etc. we exited that building and walked about 75 meters to the next building where they conduct the actual interview. We entered he second building at 8:00 am and gave our passports to the security officer who then gave our passports to a lady behind one of the Windows. There was some people ahead of us. At about 9:30 am an Algerian woman called my husband up to one of the Windows and she gave him back all of the civil documents and then requested the copies that he had. The only thing she didn't take from my husband was my IRS transcript (not sure why). Anyway she gave my husband back my passport and said it wasn't needed. She also gave him a paper telling him about his rights in the United States as spouse etc. We then waited for another hour and a half which started to sincerely tick me off because they were calling other people that came after us. Then finally at 11:35am a second woman called my husband to a window and asked him if he wanted the interview in French, English, or Arabic. She also told him to raise his right hand and place his left hand on the chest and to swear that information that was provided was true and correct which he did and the she asked the following questions (not necessarily in the exact order) Where did you meet your wife? Where is she originally from? Is she close to her parents? Have you ever spoken to her parents? What does your wife do for a living? How long has she been a nurse? How long has your wife been a Muslim? Does she have any family in her home country and does she talk to them still? Is she still a citizen of that country? What age did your wife migrate to America? Who brought her to America? Where does her mother live? Does she have any brothers and sisters? Are they with the same parents? How old is your wife? THey asked my husband what does he do for a living.. They also asked him a question about something she saw in one of our chats.. After all of this she then said everything looks in order and congratulations your visa has been approved and he was to wait because one of her colleagues will call him back to one of the counter and tell him how his visa will be printed and when and where he would be able to pick it up which another lady did call us up and explain things to him. FYI: I wasn't at the counter with my husband when he was being interviewed but I could hear every single thing he was being asked. There is absolutely no discretion and everyone will hear your business so maybe it was a blessing that we were the last one called. Lol. Rating : Good
