I think the EAD took this long because we recieved an initial request for evidence based off of my wife's Affidavit of support. Unfortunately, while we responded within 2 weeks, this appears to have significantly delayed the EAD. |

Embassy Review : |
My interview at the American Embassy in London was at midday on Friday 10th June and being particularly efficient with time management, I arrived at 11.40am. To make things a little easier to digest, I've put down a stage by stage account of what happened.
•Outside the huge American Embassy there is a white gazebo with a lady. There was no queue whatsoever. I gave her my passport and confirmation paper that I printed after my DS-160 was completed online.
•I then walked to the security hut at the front of the building. It was a typical security check that you'd expect at any international airport.
•I walked around the building and in through a door at the top of the steps. The receptionist again checked my passport and confirmation paper, gave me a number and pointed me towards the front of the huge waiting room.
•The waiting room was where I spent most of my time. There was a large screen at the front which informed the desk numbers people needed to go to. FYI - there's passport picture machines to the right of the room - £7 for American passport size pictures.
•I waited for 30 minutes and my number was called. I went to the desk. The extremely polite man checked all my papers were in order and took them ready for my interview. Papers he needed were my birth certificate, police checks, passport, confirmation page, I-134 Affidavit of Support and any proof of my partner being able to financially support me (letter from employer). I returned to the waiting room.
•45 minutes later my number was called again for a different desk. A lady, also very polite and happy, greeted me. She asked me the following questions in what was a 3 minute interview:
-How did you meet Laura?
--How long have you been together?
-How long have you lived in England together? (I then explained our long history of globe trotting)
-Where is your partner now?
-When do you plan to get married?
7. She then congratulated me and told me my application for a fiance visa to the US had been approved. She said it usually takes 2 weeks for my passport to arrive. I chose online to have it delivered to my work address before my interview (you cannot change this afterwards).
8. She returned my forms and I walked out smiling.
9. I booked my tickets to America for in 3 weeks time.
And we both lived happily ever after... |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
