As of April 3, 2019 Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview
After years of waiting, we finally have an interview date on May 6th, 2021.
Our interview went well. They pretty much asked us the same type of questions we were asked the first time back in 2017. After it was over we were told, it might take some time to have our paperwork checked out, and then it might take up to 90 days to get my new card.
To our surprise yesterday, May 7th, 2021 we got a new update on our case saying that a new card is being produced and today, May 8th, 2021 we found another notice saying your case has been approved. This whole process took way too long and it would have lasted longer if we hadn't contacted our congressman.
*Latest Update: My card just arrived today, Thursday, May 13th. I got it sooner than I expected. |

Compared to my I-751 application, the N-400 is moving much faster than expected. In just two months I went through my biometrics appointment and my interview will be next month. This might be a record.
*Update: My interview was in October and I passed! Just recently I got my Oath Ceremony date, it will be in December. It has been a very long journey since 2016. After I get my new passport, I'll be so relieved to never have to deal with long frustrating applications. I'm finally going to be a full-fledged American citizen.
*Final update: The ceremony was quick. Because of Covid, only 10 people were allowed in and the whole ceremony only lasted maybe 10 to 15 minutes. I did get a chance to take a picture with the judge, of course keeping my distance and wearing a mask. I was really happy they had a live-streaming video going. I waved to my family and friends while I was leaving. Well, this is it. I'm now an American citizen. The whole process took about 5 months. Really fast compared to my other applications. Time to start a new life with my hubby, friends, and my awesome new job.
Final, final note: I decided to apply for my new American passport and I chose to expedite the process as my dad hasn't been feeling well lately and I may have to rush to see him. I received my passport around 3 weeks after my application was sent. However, my important documents were not sent back till 7 weeks after I received my passport. I was getting really worried about this. Glad I finally got everything back. I'm now completely done with all my paperwork and very thankful it is all finally over.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
