Member Reviews:

Consulate Review: Taipei, Taiwan
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 10, 2016
Embassy Review : Before schedule the interview, the consulate need to have your case in hand( you can email to ask) And collect all the information they need in the list, such as DS160, interview confirm form, birth certificate, current household registration certificate, police record and I134 with W2, etc...

So I schedule the interview at 13:50, but I went inside before 15 mins( it depends on security guard, if he or she let you to go inside before schedule time.
When I enter the consulate, they ask me for my mobile and ID to keep in their place and go through kind of airport security check. After I go inside the actual place, I let the reception see my interview confirm paper and DS160. Then I go inside other room submit all my document and passport , also the 2x2 pictures. Then the other window they will check all the information with you and scan your fingers prints. This part is important. The lady type all the answer on computer, like she is doing summary to the interview officer. So just answer the truth.
Lady: why u check your first name and last name? Why has this big chance in your life?
Me: well . My mother and father got divorced, so I don't want my father last name and according to my fortune teller, I have to Chang my first name as well to be good for myself lol (the lady was laugh when I said that, but it truth tho lol )
And then she asks me about when I meet him? When I go to America to meet his parents? When he meets my family and what's his job etc(I show her my fiancé military order and she said she hates to see it because it all words and a lot of number lol )
After done with this part, she will ask you to wait to be call later by interview officer ( the interview part would be in English but it depends if u speak English with your fiancé)
After 30mins officer call my full name,
Officer: hello how are you ?
Me: I'm ok but nervous lol.
Officer: alright. Can you rise your right hands and swear all you say is truth today blah blah blah(after he will need you to scan right hands finger print)
Officer: so tell me after you and your fiancé?
Me : well he is funny and we know each other on 2013/8. And see face to face on 2014/01/10
Officer : so when you guys know each other you haven't see each other yet ?
Me . That's correct.
Officer: so what website you meet each other ?
Me: shout.
Officer : ok go on .
Me : and he show me Japan and meet up with his friend which you already see in the photo. And I stay in hotel because I can't enter the base and he lives in dorm.
Officer: why is he in Japan?
Me becaus he is in military.
Officer: oh ok ! What branch ?
Me: Navy.
And then he ask me about what we do together? Did I meet his parent? Did he meet my parents .
Officer : so do your family like him?
Me: yes!!they love him a lot becuz he eat everything including stinky tofu
Officer: very courage (with big shock and laugh)
Me : yeah haha he tries everything.
And then he ask me where we going to marry and where my fiancé from. And what will I want to work in US if I can.
And I mention I major in Spanish so he speaks Spanish with me after I say that :/ haha which I almost forgot how to say hahah
So after all that he said you are approved . You will receive your visa within 2-3days( not including weekend tho)
So good luck everyone officer is nice. Just say the truth hope everyone the best luck
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
