After a very annoying post NVC, pre-interview stage in dealing with this Consulate, the interview itself was relatively painless on 09/27/2016. When we arrived (my now-husband flew in to accompany me) we of course had to line up 15 minutes before the scheduled interview time. Upon being let in, I had to approach a counter where the attendant handed me an empty folder and a checklist. The checklist was of all the documents we had been previously instructed to bring and the instructions were to put the items in the folder in order. After about a ten minute wait, I was called into a separate room where I stood at a counter and handed over the folder with the documents. This lady seems to have been in charge of making sure that you brought all of the required items. She took the opportunity to quiz me on my fiance's phone number and address (to see if I knew them by heart). She paid specific attention to his job letters and income information - she actually paused to read those. She asked how we met etc. This may not be anyone else's experience but my interviewer was nearby (but out of sight) and seemed to be slipping her simple questions to ask me as she was recording my documents. He heard my answers as I said them aloud so I guess I was being pre interviewed. After that I was sent to sit and wait to be called in for my interview (a nerve racking 10 min wait). When I was called into the room, I went to a different counter and was faced by my interviewer. Nerves aside, the questions were simple enough - how we met, how long ago, what countries I visited and how long Ive stayed, how long I lived abroad, and he asked to see photos of us together. I must have been approved from that pre interview because the sheet of paper that I saw on the counter when I walked into the interview was the same one he simply picked up and handed to me once I satisfied his questions. And with that, we scampered out into Port of Spain, hoping that they don't call us back to tell us it was all a mistake. lol Good luck. Its really not as bad as it seems, but just be prepared. You may not remember something or have the perfect answer for things that they ask to catch you off guard but answer as calmly as you possibly can - that's key.

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
