It took 5 months for my Aos to be approved because uscis Baltimore did not receive my k1 Visa package. It got stocked with the customs and immigration at the airport. So no decision was made on my interview day. |

Embassy Review : |
My interview was for 9.30am . At 9am I was at the security and it was smooth, everyone was nice. I got into the embassy, the lady gave me a ticket number,I waited for about 30 minutes for my number to be called. I went to the window, the man was very pleasant ,he checked my documents ,took my fingerprints and said everything was alright except that I need to provide a letter from my son father that he is aware that my son is traveling with me and I gave him the decision from the court that states that I have sole custody, then he said all is ok. He gave me the domestic violence paper and asked me to wait for my number to be called by the consular officer.
So I waited for about 1 hour before my number was called by the consular officer, he introduced himself and took my fingerprints and oat taking and his questions where:
1. When did you met your fiancé ?
2.when last did you see your fiancé ?
3. Was your fiancé born in the United States ?
4. Does your son father know that you are taking his son to the United States ?
5. How long did your fiancé stay when he visited you?
6.why did you decide to marry your fiancé ?
7. Have you met your fiancé family?
8. When do you plan to leave for the United States ?
Then he said, everything looks good and I wish you the best in your journey to the United States . You will get your passport delivered to your address in 1 week.
The interview was so quick and easy,it took about 10 minutes.
I was in the embassy for about 1hour 30 minutes.
I was scared because I am a Nigeria living in Germany . I was not treated differently, the interview was the best part of the whole process.
I was told that I need a tax transcript from irs and a 1040 without w2 were insufficient, that's not true. All I submitted was 1040 for 3 yrs and it was ok. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
