Embassy Review : |
Got to the embassy about 30 min before my appointment. Lot of people waiting in line already. Most of them for non-immigrant visas.
Went up to the window by the main entrance where they ask you to show them your passport, remove your jacket, show the soles of your shoes and look inside any bag you might have brought (I recommend to not bring anything you absolutely do not need as there are limited storage)
Next you go through a ordinary security check (like at the airport) follow the yellow line up to the consulate where you are greeted by another security officer who asked you what type of visa you are there for.
I was told to go up to window 7, where I has to stand in line so another nice Swedish woman waived me over to another widow where the "pre-interview" took place. She was very nice and we chatted while she asked for all of my documents. I was told to sit down and wait until my name was called. Around 20-30 min wait approx.
My name was called to window 4 where I was greeted by a nice American guy, he took my fingerprints and I had to say the oath. We chatted for about 5-10 min, he asked me about where we met, about my previous trips to the States, how I'm going to support myself and what I like about my fiancé. There might have been more questions too, however I cannot remember them all as it was more like a conversation than an interview. In the end he smiled and said he was gonna go ahead a approve my visa. So it is safe to say I left with a huge smile on my face! An overall pleasant experience. They will treat you very good as song as you are polite, tell the truth and have all your paperwork in order.
Good luck! |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
