Our petition was recalled to USCIS for "further review" due to IMBRA. The Juarez consulate informed my fiancee of this on 2006-05-31. |

We stayed at the Hotel Lucerna, one of the better hotels, within walking distance of the consulate. You can get a good rate if you book on the internet.
Basically, it took 3 days to receive the visa due to the consulate had not yet started processing the namechecks until we arrived. The consulate had informed both of us by phone to come to the consulate for the interview after our petition was approved again because we had already received the "fiancee packet" once before. (We were a recalled IMBRA case) My fiancee actually spoke to the people inside that informed us to come to the consulate and they asked if I was outside. We had plenty of evidence of all communications between us and the consulate, the NVC and the USCIS. There was also some confusion with the namechecks due to my fiancee's previous marriage.
The first day, the consulate decided to go forward with the interview anyway. My fiancee was given a 221G form after the interview was complete in order to come back the next day. The form also listed "family" as ones that could come into the consulate the next day.
The second day, we went back in the morning and I also went inside. We went to a window in the wall and the agent gave us a note and told us to come back at 3. We did and she said the processing of the name check was still not complete. The third day we went back with our next note to the window at 10:30 and she did one last check on her computer and found that the namecheck had just been received. About an hour later, my fiancee had received her visa.
One thing I can say about this consulate is that if you are going to wait outside make sure you have water and sunscreen. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
