Medical appointment :
04/25/2016 at Medisys Montreal, 10AM with Dr Marcel Pigeon.
I got there early, as I live on the south shore, and it is always hard to plan on traffic in advance. Parked my car in the underground parking at the clinic location at 9:20. Got to the 11th floor and was handed the questionnaire right away in exchange of my vaccination records, passport and 5 photos. Filled out the questionnaire, nothing fancy, just general questions about medical history, current conditions and medications. Got called for the chest X-ray at 9:45. Back to the waiting room at 9:50. Got called by the nurse at 10:00. She took some blood for the syphilis test, then we reviewed my vaccination records and I was missing one vaccine that I learnt was not given before 1980 in my home country (France). So I got it done on the spot for an extra 60$ . Then height, weight, sight, blood pressure, pulse. And back again in the waiting room, this time for about an hour, this is where I realized getting there early was not necessary...
Dr Pigeon called me around 11:10. He is a nice older man, I would say in his 60s. He asked me what I was "going to do in the city of angels apart from bathing in the sun" (haha )
He was curious about my tattoos; he was really nice and friendly. He checked my ears, my throat, touched my belly, my legs, listened to my lungs and heart, and that was it. He wished me good luck and lots of happiness and I was on my way to pay the bill. Be prepared, that is painful : 340$ + extra vaccine I was missing = 399.18$ (The parking was an extra 18$).
Well at least it is done, and I cannot get in trouble for missing a vaccine.
I was out of there at 11:30. My file will be available to pickup in about 3 days.
Interview at Montreal consulate:
05/04/2016
My appointment was at 9AM and I arrived in line in front of the building at 8:30AM.
I went through scanning, and it took a bit of time because there was a lot of people before me.
So I arrived at the 19th floor around 8:45 and got called to window 1 right away. The lady was really nice and smiling. She asked me the documents that I was meant to bring : 2 photos, passport + copy, interview confirmation email, medical results.
She handed me back the XRay CD as she did not need it. Then she asked my birth certificate + translation, my divorce certificate+ translation (since I was previously married and divorced), the letter of intent, the proof of financial support (letter from employer, pay stubs and tax report).
She then took my fingerprints and send me back to the waiting room with number 5.
After 5 minutes I was called at window 7 for my interview. The guy who did the interview was young, really nice and trying to make a relaxing atmosphere with some jokes. But I was not too stressed actually, pretty confident.
Beside him was his boss; I am not sure if he was just checked on quality or if he was starting and she was assessing his work. She was nice too.
He took my oath, then proceed with the questions :
- When and where did you meet?
- When did you see each other face to face?
- Where does he live? for how long has he been living there ?
- Where does he work? What job?
- Have I had any issues with law or police?
- Have I lived anywhere beside the US or Canada?
- Have I been married? what was my ex husband's name?
Then he asked me to specify dates on my divorce certificate and we noticed the year on it was wrong... Panic attack... Thank to my anxiety, I took a lot of extra papers (marriage certificate and court documents for the divorce) and I ended up being happy to have brought them to confirm the date I was giving that was different from the divorce certificate; and he was satisfied.
Then he grabbed a paper under his desk and handed it to me with a "Welcome to the United States, you will receive your passport with the visa within 2 weeks. Best of luck and good day! "
I was out by 9:15AM and called my fiancé, my mum, texted my friends, updated my Facebook page. Heehee I am so excited right now.
My CEAC has already changed as of 8PM the day of the interview:
Case Creation Date: 04-May-2016
Status Updated Date: 04-May-2016
Your case is open and ready for your interview, fingerprints, and required documents. If you have already had your interview, please check your status after two business days.

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
