Event Description

Embassy Review : I would say that in talking with my wife(married on Nov.25, 2006), that her experience with the Embassy in Lima, Peru was very favorable. She did have to wait three different times(once in a line to get inside the embassy), and 2 times before two seperate interviews. She said she was worried at first, because many of the people were having their visas denied from what she could gather, but those people had been interviewed for travel visas.
Her first interview was with someone different, than the lady conducting travel visa interviews. She was allowed to bring her son (13 yrs.) for the interview. The entire interview was in Spanish(since she speaks no English) and she said the lady was really nice to her. She asked her questions like, "How did you meet your fiance?" "Can you tell me about his family?" "Do you have some photos of you two together?"
Her second interview was later and covered some of the same questions. She was told after her second interview that her K-1 Visa would be granted. She was at the embassy for a total of 3 hours more or less.
She was pleased with how she was treated.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
