Went to interview at the San Jose, CA field office. The Interviewing Officer (IO) just asked for our IDs and then I presented documentation proving a bonafide relationship. IO then asked some I-485 questions from my wife "Are you a terrorist?" etc. Then we showed the IO a bunch of pictures and explained what we were doing. We chatted a while about some of the pictures. The IO then said that "I think I have everything I need" and then she printed out a paper that is a receipt proving that we had the interview. I asked if it meant that we were approved for a Green Card and she said "no", that she would need to do some more review and that we may not hear anything for up to 120 days! |

Received an 18 month extension of conditional status. The extension will run out in April of 2021.
On Dec. 9, 2020 I received a notice that my case was transferred to another office.
I am wondering what will happen if we do not get something before then. When I submitted a request via the myUSCIS portal it said that my application is still within the normal processing time and would not accept my request submittal. |

Embassy Review : |
My fiancé arrived at the Embassy at the scheduled time. She spent lots of time waiting at the various steps before the actual interview with the CO. The actual interview with the CO went quite well and only lasted for a couple of minutes. The CO did not ask any challenging questions. Our case is very simple in that both me and my fiancé had never been married before, neither of us have kids and I easily make enough money to support her and I. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
