Comments : After we received notice that USCIS had approved I-130, we called the NVC. They told us no case # assigned. In the meantime, I had emailed them to give them our emails - they responded that they had no case yet. I called again a couple times. On June 7, I called and spoke with a very helpful person who said they are processing case numbers at about 2 weeks from processing receipt of case. I planned to call tonight (June 14) as he suggested but today, my spouse, the petitioner, received the NVC welcome letter via email. I don't know if we got it via email because we had set up email communication through our I-130 or because I had emailed in.

I submitted the AOS and civil documents before the DS-260. This was a mistake. My case ended up taking longer to process because of this. At first, they told me it would take up to 60 days to process. Had I submitted them at the same time, they probably would have been processed in a couple weeks. Luckily, they completed my case just a week late. I found out by calling. The email confirmation came a week later

August 5: I called to see if my interview had been scheduled and it was! They told me an email with interview information could take a week so it was good I called so I could start planning.

Medical: August 30. Dr. Cheema, Vancouver. Went well. Easier than I thought. My appt. was at 10 am. I got there for 9:30. They were late calling me up because the lady before me did not have all her documents (come prepared!). I finally got up at 10:15, took about 15 minutes to go over my info with the reception. Set up my courier and paid ($280 for medical + $35 extra for courier, no tax). Saw Dr. Cheema. Very nice doctor, easy appt. I was expecting a full body physical but he just did a few brief assessments, asked about what RX I was taking and if I had had any surgeries or medical health problems and signed papers. Then I went to a lab down the street for my chest xray - that took 5 minutes from entry to exit. Very easy. Next, I had to go to another floor for bloodwork. Their computers were down so I had to go to another location. Luckily by now I had a ride as I had been using public transit up until Cheema. From 9:30 to finish, 2 1/2 hours. The report should be couriered to me by Friday - medical was on a Tuesday.

Got EAD Stamp : Yes,Passport Stamp
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : Passed at Eastport, Idaho border. They hadn't processed any immigration entries in some time, so that made the process a bit slower. The border agent at the window was typical but the one who helped us was super nice.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
