Event Description
Review Date : July 4, 2018
Embassy Review : My husband (who is the applicant) and I had to take my 2.5 yr old daughter to the interview with us due to the time it was scheduled. The interviewer was a bit unprofessional but gave us a relatively easy interview. She said our file was out of order and that seemed to throw her off in the beginning. She would not let me translate any of the questions for him (I expected that but thought I would ask just in case). I can't remember the exact questions but she wanted to know some dates (I believe the date we got married) and where did we meet. I brought a ton of documents to prove that we live together and have accounts together and so forth and she didn't ask for anything! Maybe because we have a child together they figure they can go a little easier on us? I am not complaining!

She told us he would be conditionally approved since we were married for less than 2 years and that means we will have to submit some document for permanent status in 2 years. She gave us info on selective service (the draft). She was generally helpful.

However, she could not officially approve us in the interview. She handed us a document that our case needed "additional review." She indicated it was something with the biometrics or some database or something (I don't remember precisely what it was), but of course that gets your brain spinning thinking oh my gosh did they find something crazy and are going to deny us? Would they rather send us a denial letter rather than tell us in person and is this a nice way to do it? I was quite worried but sure enough, about 2-3 weeks later we received the green card in the mail. Huge relief!
Harassment Level : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
