Embassy Review : Visa Interview - London Embassy April 21st 2016

I got to the Embassy at about 11.45am and sat in Grosvenor Gardens for a little while, I met up with Laura (Laurajc1984) off these forums, we met at 12pm outside the embassy and there was no queues we were the first there!

We waited a short while and a Man and Woman came out the embassy with a list with names on, they checked our letters and passports and crossed our names of the sheet I went to the security hut first, its just like being at the airport security you then walk around the side of the embassy outside and then come to some steps on your left hand side you walk up to these and through the main doors.
There I met a nice lady who gave me my number (I-902) and you then walk up some stairs on the left into the waiting room, it wasn't as big as I imagined and it was very quiet, there was about 10 people there by the time I had my interview and the police officers outside had said on Tuesday there had been over 1000 people through the embassy and they commented that it was a quiet day yesterday.

It's almost like being at the post office with lots of windows, There are 11 windows facing the waiting room and then 12 to 25 around the side, it's well signposted. I had only been sat down for 10 minutes when I got called to window 14 to present my documents, it was quick and easy make you you have the requested documents ready I got asked for:
*Passport
*Birth Certificate
*Police Certificate
*Affidavit of Support

I then had my finger prints taken and then got told to go sit down again which I did, just after 1pm I was called for my interview at Window 15, I had a nice American lady who was very chatty, she didn't quiz me too much, I had to hold my right hand up and swear the oath and to tell the truth.
The questions I got asked were:
*How did you meet?
*How long have you been together?
*Have you/her met each others families?
*Who proposed to who?
*What jobs do you both do?
*Why USA and not UK?

She asked to see tax transcripts and that was it, I was approved, I got tod my passport takes up to 2 weeks to come back It wasn't scary and it was easy if prepared, it was more of an informal chat rather than being grilled.
Also I was only in the embassy about an hour

Very easy to get around and well sign posted, everyone was very chatty and kind.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
