My fiance and I both attended our interview and arrived at about a half hour early for our appointment at 7:30. Neither of us is a German citizen, but we had no issues. We were put in the non-immigrant line and luckily had left almost all our belongings (cell phones, wallets) in a locker in the Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof for 4 euros. I highly recommend this for people without a car or hotel room! The U5 goes directly to the consulate from the Hauptbahnhof. We first gave in our passports and received a number, then had to put our belongings in plastic bags and go through security. In the general waiting area, we had to give my fiance's passport and a printed copy of our appointment confirmation to a clerk, then waited to be called by the secretary. She looked at our case first, explained the sealed packet and double-checked some biographical information. After being sent to wait again, we were called for our interview at another window. Our officer was very friendly and spoke perfect English (as did everyone else we encountered). He asked my fiance basic questions, like how we met, what my birthday is, if he had met my parents, and how he proposed. All the questions were basically directed to my fiance, but the officer was friendly and interacted with me as well, even made some jokes. After about 5-7 minutes, he told us our visa was approved and we should receive it in about a week!! We had our medical only the day before, so my fiance's file hadn't reached the consulate yet, but it was no problem and they said they would issue the visa as soon as they received the medical. Great experience! |

Timeline Comments: 1I saw u didn’t had same day oath ceremony at newark office but it was quick within few weeks.
Did you requested expedite request or something to schedule it or generally they r fast?
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
