Case was never sent to local USCIS, it remained at the Benefits Center until approved. What was really weird was that the case number remained invalid until it was approved after being processed for 7 months. No matter, was really worth the wait since there were no interview.

My fiancé had his interview at the Phnom Penh embassy on March 22, 2016. This is just some of recounts that he had told me. He arrived at the embassy at around 6:30am and there were already a good amount of people waiting. They started letting people in at 7:00am. He was 5th in line by then. There were maybe only about a handful of people that were there for the K1 visa interview like he was. Many were for the visitor visas. He went through the different lines for handing in documents, fingerprinting, etc... Then at around 10:30 or so, it was finally his turn for his interview. He was met by a friendly and respectable looking American fellow who started asking him questions right away. My fiancé said that he was very nice and courteous to him. He started by asking "how did you guys meet?" He said that we met through our parents which was exactly how we met.
Other questions are as follows, I think it's different depending on your case and what you have submitted to them:
1) how did you meet?
2) if through your parents, how are they related? How are you and your fiancé related?
3) where does your fiancé work? (Name of the company or place of work)
4) what is your fiance's phone number?
5) where are you and your fiancé planning to get married?
6) once in the US, what do you plan to do?
7) have your fiancé ever had any serious relationships or have been married before?
8) does your fiancé have any kids? How many? How old are they? What are their names?
9) what happened with the relationship between your fiancé and the children's father?
After this last question, he was told by the CO that he had to put him into an "administrative review" as they needed more time to look through the files more thoroughly before a decision can be made. He was then given a pink slip and told by the CO that he would be contacted in a few days with the result. I thought the waiting was going to take a long time since I read that most AP can take from days, weeks, months, to years. But luckily we only needed to wait 2 days, they emailed him and told him he needed to stop by the embassy with a print out of the email on any Monday's through Wednesday's from 1:00-2:00pm so that they can continue processing his case. I thought that he might have to answer more questions or may not have been approved (as there are always doubts since they did not keep his passport when they gave him the pink slip- and the pink slip did not say we needed to submit any other documents, it only says that we didn't need to submit anything else, they only needed more time to review our files). Anyways, he went today Monday March 28 at 12:30pm and waited with a good amount of other people as well. He went in at 1:00pm and it went smoothly, he was greeted by a Cambodian worker there who only told him that the embassy tried calling without any avail, so they emailed him instead. He was told that he was approved, was given some documents back, and was handed a blue slip that said that his visa would be ready to be picked up on April 8th at 11:00am!! He gave them his passport and he was out the door. I am so happy that we were able to beat the odds. Needless to say though, I put in a lot of effort to build a case file that was complete and had no missing holes. I submitted a lot of relationship evidence with my first petition (lots of pictures that chronicled my whole three weeks from my first visit in July 2015) and as for the interview I submitted another picture story that chronicled my whole two weeks with my fiancé from my second visit to Cambodia in December 2015. I also submitted a 39 page Facebook messenger screenshots of my conversations with my fiancé from the first time I ever spoke with him until two weeks before his interview. It just basically shows that we communicated almost everyday and how long we spoke as it records the date and how long each conversation lasted. And of course, the rest of the other necessary documents were submitted as well.
My tip to you is to have all your i (s) dotted and your t (s) crossed. Check to make sure you have everything that they ask for. And when at the interview, make sure you are confident and be honest. Body language and facial expressions are very important especially when CO are especially trained to make decisions based upon first impressions, so if you have a genuine and bonafided relationship, any questions thrown at you should not be hard, it should be naturally known and conveyed. I really want to thank every one on visa journey because without all the information that I was able to get from here, it would've been a hard journey to travel alone (and a bit clueless as well). Every time I had doubts or questions, I was able to find answers and solace from all the others member's posts and experiences.
This is just the end of one journey, I am sure I will still need advice and information for the next part of the journey, so here is looking forward to opening another door... 😊😘😋
