Embassy Review : |
My fiance, Marco, and I used the previous reviews of the Buenos Aires embassy to help us prepare for his interview, and we found everything to be just as expected. Things moved very smoothly, and all of the embassy officials he interacted with were very friendly and helpful.
He only brought with him the original copies of the documents that were needed (They are listed in the email they send you inviting you for your interview). You did not need to bring all of the previous documents.
The actual interview itself was very casual. They asked the questions he expected; "How did you meet?" "Have you meet her family?" "When did you last see each other?" All very conversational. They did ask him some questions about his flight plans and our wedding plans, but it wasn't an issue that we didn't have any real plans made at that time since we were waiting on his visa approval.
Marco did unfortunately not have one of his vaccines properly dated, so we had to email that back to them after the interview. It took them nearly a month to get back to us through email us and officially confirm his visa approval (we were nervous wrecks!), so make sure you have everything you need at the interview! I think it was very understanding of them to let us mail that in after the fact, though. Marco even thinks that they may not have said anything if he hadn't mentioned it. It's probably going to save us more time on the U.S. side of things.
Marco even asked the embassy rep about his previous cancelled tourist visa, and he reassured Marco that it did not pose a problem since the K1 visa is a completely different process.
It was nice to have such smooth and "bump-free" interview after so much worrying!! javascript:emoticon('')javascript:emoticon('')javascript:emoticon('') |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
