Embassy Consul at Manila was fair and kind. Asked about fiance and how we met. Asked about previous trips to the US. Visa was immediately approved. Consul also shared a reminder about how to ask for help if in case domestic violence occurs.

The immigration officer was a bit intimidating as he asked me about the items I was bringing into the country. Then he asked for my packet then made me move to another office, where I waited until my papers were processed. It was a long wait, maybe 30mins so thank God I was early for my flight. Then I received the go signal to enter the US (from Toronto). No more questions once I arrived in Baltimore. |

The first officer who reviewed the docs before the interview asked me for my fiance's tax returns. I didn't have them since it wasn't in the official list of items. I instead had his 401k and employment details. She scoffed at me, "does he not pay taxes?" There was no need to be snappy so I just maintained composure and controlled myself from talking back.
The Consul who actually did the interview was kind.
She asked standard questions like how we met, the last time we met and about when I last visited my US citizen fiance in the USA.
She seemed easily convinced by the authenticity of our relationship.
She closed the interview by giving me a pamphlet with info in case of domestic violence.
Total time from queueing to interview was about 3 hours. The interview itself took about 15 mins. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
