Amazingly quick! We feel blessed that we met the right people who helped us to get married just in time before I had to return to the states for Pharmacy school.
On Sept. 4 (5 days after getting married), Ali and I scheduled an appointment @ 3 PM for my I-130 petition for my husband Ali. We didn't speak to the consulate until 3:30 during which he interviewed me for about 5 minutes and told me he approved my petition. At 3:45 pm, he gave my husband the final packet which included the forms for a medical exam, the Visa application, and a list of other documents that's required with the visa application.
On October 1, my husband submitted his visa application, along with his police certificates from Italy, France, and Algeria, and also his medical application. Within 1 hr, the consulate approved his petition and asked for his passport. On October 14, Ali received his passport with the US visa along with a brown envelope to be given to someone at the airport upon entry to the US. He is scheduled to arrive @ 12PM, October 31, 2006!

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
