Embassy Review : |
My appointment was scheduled on August 12th at 8 am. I was inside the consulate around 8:30 and by 9:30 I had paid the fee and given the necessary documents requested.
Since tax returns only reflected 6 months of income, we had a co-sponsor but we did not enclose a copy of his passport or birth certificate. Additionally, my fiance had a letter from her job stating that she makes X amount which was way above the requirement. Therefore, if you have a co-sponsor make sure to have a copy of the co-sponsor birth certificate/passport, it will spare you some unnecessary arguing.
I was called to window 7 where the actual interview took place and it was with a young black lady. I took an oath to tell the truth and then she said that she will ask me some questions about my fiance. I sat down and these were the questions asked:
1- What is your full name?
2- What is the name of your fiance?
3- What is her birthday?
4- Describe how did you meet her?
5- Where have you traveled? have you been anywhere in Asia?
6- I see you went abroad to study, what was the program? did you graduate?
7- What date did you propose to your fiance?
8- When will you leave?
9- Do you have any wedding plans? - here I talked about a location that is different from where she actually lives and then she asked yeah because she lives there, right? (it was the state where her family lives)
10- Where exactly does her family live?
11- Do you have any relatives in the US?
12- Do you have any pictures together I can look at?
13- Did they gave you this document already? - It was the immigration rights, I said yes
14- What's on there? did you read it?
Then she said the visa is approved and you can pick it up through Aramex in 10 days.
To recap, the interview was straightforward, I did not bring with me a lot of evidence just few things. The CO was not friendly but I would say professional.
Best of luck to everyone!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
